'Power Line Disruption' Halts Gyeongui Jungang Line and KTX Trains

A disruption due to 'power line issues' has caused delays for the Gyeongui Jungang Line and KTX trains between Gajwa Station and Sinchon Station in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.

According to Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) on the 13th, at around 8:19 AM, a ladder truck that was at an apartment in Seodaemun-gu fell towards the tracks between Gajwa Station and Sinchon Station, making contact with the power supply lines.

As a result of this incident, there was an electrical supply disruption on both the up and down tracks between Seoul Station and Haengsin Station, causing delays for some commuter trains along with the Gyeongui Jungang Line and KTX operations.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced through a safety text message that "the Gyeongui Jungang Line between Gajwa Station and Sinchon Station is under complete control due to the ladder truck overturning incident affecting both directions." Emergency services are on site to ensure safety and manage the incident.
