IVE’s leader, An Yu-jin, will be hosting the awards ceremony as an MC. Starship Entertainment announced on the 27th that “An Yu-jin will host the ‘2024 SBS Gayo Daejeon’, which will be held on the 25th of next month at the Inspire Arena in Incheon Yeongjongdo.”
An Yu-jin has been selected as the MC for the Gayo Daejeon for the fourth consecutive time. Each year, she has received positive feedback from viewers for her exceptional hosting skills, leading the live broadcast with her adept and witty remarks.
An Yu-jin is active not only with IVE activities but also in various fields. She showcased works such as the Disney 100th anniversary movie ‘Wish’ and the OST for Kakao Webtoon ‘The Great’.
She also made her presence known in variety shows. Since 2022, she has showcased her innate variety show flair on tvN’s ‘Earth Arcade’ as well as JTBC’s ‘Crime Scene Returns’. She established a character known as ‘Clear-eyed Maniac’, always showing a proactive attitude faithful to the concept.
Her father-daughter chemistry with PD Na Young-seok also gained attention. In May, An Yu-jin was nominated for the Entertainment Award at the ’60th Baeksang Arts Awards’ and received a popularity award. In July, she won the U+ Why Not Trophy at the ‘3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards’.
That’s not all. In September, she was selected as the ‘Female Variety Idol’ for two consecutive years. She achieved the feat of winning in the Female Variety Idol category at the ‘2024 Brand of the Year Awards’.
IVE held their first world tour this year. They held 37 performances in 28 cities across 19 countries, meeting approximately 420,000 fans. They successfully concluded with a finale at the Tokyo Dome. They also took to global performance stages, showcasing overwhelming live skills at events like ‘Lollapalooza Chicago’ and ‘Summer Sonic 2024’, establishing themselves as a performance group.
IVE was early announced in the first lineup for next year’s ‘Lollapalooza Paris’. ‘Lollapalooza Paris’ will be held on July 20 at the Longchamp Racecourse in Paris, France.
