Ahn Cheol-soo criticizes Lee Jae-myung's presidential candidacy, expressing concerns about North Korean-style democracy

Ahn Cheol-soo, a candidate for the presidential primary of the People Power Party, strongly criticized Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, through his Facebook on the 28th.

Ahn pointed out that “when one person is given the power to change everything, North Korean-style democracy can be realized,” criticizing Lee for only mentioning the word ‘freedom’ once in his acceptance speech.

He argued that in the era of Lee Jae-myung, the value of freedom would collapse, claiming that policies like nationalization of enterprises, populism-led free welfare, and expansion of public sectors would destroy the will of our lives.

Ahn also stated, “We must put forth a candidate who can definitely win,” targeting his competitors. He mentioned that with over 60% public support, someone with a background as a prosecutor or in a position of criticism could not stop Lee Jae-myung. He further stated, "We cannot win against public officials like Lee Jae-myung, such as city or provincial mayors and ministers," criticizing Han Duck-soo, who is regarded as a likely candidate close to running.

Ahn appealed for support, highlighting his experience as a doctor, founder of a venture company, and educator. He said, “Only those who engage in politics with a spirit of public service can win through differentiation.”

Ahn claimed to have proven his political skills by creating a party with 38 seats, emphasizing that only those who have achieved results for the people can possess differentiated competitiveness.
