Ahn Cheol-soo Criticizes President Lee Jae-myung's Liberation Day Pardon

Ahn Cheol-soo, the candidate for the chairmanship of the People Power Party, has delivered strong criticism of President Lee Jae-myung's special pardon on Liberation Day.

On the 11th, Ahn posted on his Facebook a message titled "President Lee Jae-myung. You are a traitor to the nation."

Ahn expressed his anger, stating, "This president has indeed carried out the Liberation Day pardon." He criticized the individuals included in the pardon, saying, "It seems as if a lineup of criminals, such as Cho Kuk, Jeong Kyung-shim, Yoon Mi-hyang, Choi Kang-wook, Cho Hee-yeon, Eun Soo-mi, Kim Eun-kyeong, and Shin Mi-sook – those involved in college entrance exam scandals, shameless offenders, bribery criminals, and power-related corruption cases – were gathered like those being transported in a prison transport vehicle."

Ahn further argued, "These people were granted presidential favors under the guise of national unity and restoration of people's livelihoods." He criticized the president for "disguising those who have betrayed the nation and disturbed the national flag as patriots and releasing them into society on Liberation Day, a day we rose from a colonial state to a free and independent nation."
