A unique Mnet audition is coming. The program will be produced in two regions and two languages.
Mnet announced a new boy group survival project on the 26th. It will be broadcast next year under the title "Boys Planet 2," the second season of "Boys Planet."
For the first time in the world, K-pop twin groups will be created. Two programs in different languages, based on the same format and universe, will be produced and broadcast simultaneously.
Through "Boys Planet 2," two groups will debut. As Mnet has shown fresh planning and production expertise, expectations are high for this novel attempt.
"Boys Planet 2" unveiled a teaser video at the "MAMA Awards" held in Japan on the 22nd, hinting at the twin project with the message "Two Worlds."
The project's initial launch includes "Boys Planet 2 K" (Korea) and "Boys Planet 2 C" (China). They will be produced in Korean and Chinese, respectively, to reach an audience.
CP Kim Shin-young explained, "It's a project based on the multiverse," adding, "We chose Chinese, spoken by about 1.5 billion people globally, as the first attempt for the project."
He continued, "It will be a journey to discover global artist gems regardless of nationality," urging people to "watch the synergy when these groups perform as a whole."
Meanwhile, applicants for "Boys Planet 2" can choose between 'K' and 'C'. Males born before January 1, 2012, regardless of nationality, are eligible to apply.
