On the morning of the 28th, on a road near a high school in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do.

A parent with a 7-year-old and a 4-year-old child, referred to as A, recounted the situation when he was suddenly attacked by a high school student who approached his vehicle.

A explained that while he was inching along the first lane in front of the high school due to traffic congestion, a male student, presumed to be in high school, approached and knocked on the back seat window of his vehicle. A said, "Wondering why someone was knocking on my car, I rolled down the driver's side window, and the student looked at me for 1 to 2 seconds before swinging a weapon at me."

The victim was injured when his face was stabbed with a utility knife, but fortunately, the wound was not deep.

A disclosed that he felt even more horrified immediately after the attack. He said, "During the attack, the student first knocked on the back seat side rather than the driver's side," adding, "Seeing that he approached the side where my children were sitting sent chills down my spine, making me think that they could have been the targets."

He continued, "If I had opened the door or if my children had been exposed to the weapon, just thinking about it is terrifying," expressing that his heart sinks every time he recalls the situation.

Stabbing rampage inside the school… 6 injured, including the principal and staff

Earlier that morning at around 8:36 AM, an incident occurred in the first-floor hallway of a high school in the Heungdeok District of Cheongju, where a student, referred to as B, wielded a weapon. As a result of this incident, a total of six people, including the principal and staff, as well as a passerby, were injured and taken to the hospital, all of whom are reported to be in stable condition.

After committing the crime inside the school, B fled toward a park reservoir. During the escape, he attacked A and another passerby.

The police captured B at the scene and are investigating the exact motive and circumstances of the crime.
