Actress Min Ji-young Returns to South Korea While Battling Thyroid Cancer

After undergoing two miscarriages, actress Min Ji-young (46, Kim Min-jung) was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2021. She shared her story of making an urgent return to South Korea for cancer screening during her world travels.

She revealed that she felt as if the sky had fallen when she received the news about elevated ovarian cancer markers.

"Before Being Cured of Thyroid Cancer… The Fear of Suspected Ovarian Cancer"

On the 6th, Min Ji-young uploaded a video titled "The Reason Why My Husband and I Returned to Korea in a Hurry" on her YouTube channel ‘Min Ji-young TV’.

In the video, she explained, "I returned to Korea for cancer screening while traveling around the world," and added, "When I received the news that my ovarian cancer markers were high, I felt like the sky was falling down."

She continued, "With an anxious mind, I quickly underwent a thorough examination," expressing relief that "thankfully, it was not a case of female cancer."

Min Ji-young clarified, "I have not yet received a complete cure for thyroid cancer. We decided to return to Korea for a health check-up and ovarian cancer screening."

"After a Long-Distance Flight to My Parents' Home… It’s Overwhelming"

She stated, "I am currently taking the airport bus to my parents' home after safely completing a long-distance flight. It's an emotional moment." It has been reported that the couple immediately left for Germany again after completing their check-ups.

Min Ji-young married her younger husband, popular host Kim Hyung-kyun, in 2018, and after experiencing two miscarriages, she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2021. The couple is currently continuing their world travels in a camper van.
