Tragic swimming accident in Mungyeong and Cheongdo, Gyeongsangbuk-do
A tragic incident occurred in Mungyeong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, where a man in his 60s died while collecting freshwater snails.
At around 1:41 PM on the 27th, a man identified as Mr. A was found unconscious in a river in Mungyeong-eup, Mungyeong City.

According to the fire authorities on the 28th, Mr. A was collecting freshwater snails in a river near the village. A passing local resident noticed Mr. A lying face down in the water and immediately reported it to the authorities.
The rescue team that arrived on the scene found Mr. A and rescued him instantly, but he was already in cardiac arrest. The rescue team quickly transported Mr. A to the hospital, but unfortunately, he could not be revived and died.
On the same day, a swimming accident occurred in Cheongdo, fortunately without life-threatening consequences.
A swimming accident also took place in Cheongdo-gun on the same day.
Around 11:23 AM on the 27th, a man in his 30s identified as Mr. B fell into the water while enjoying a swim in a nearby valley in Unmun-myeon, Cheongdo-gun.
Fortunately, nearby vacationers witnessed Mr. B's situation and promptly alerted the authorities.

The rescue team that arrived on the scene rescued Mr. B from the water and immediately performed first aid before transporting him to the hospital.
Mr. B is currently reported to be in stable condition and not in life-threatening danger.
The police are investigating the exact cause of the two accidents based on witness statements.
