Director Ha Jung-woo returns as a filmmaker. The movie "Lobby" tells the story of Chang-wook (played by Ha Jung-woo), a startup CEO who knows nothing but research, starting his first-ever lobbying golf game to win a 4 trillion won government project.
Ha Jung-woo picks up the megaphone again for the first time in about ten years after "Fasten Your Seatbelt" (2013) and "Chronicle of a Blood Merchant" (2015). "Lobby" is crafted with his unique wit and wordplay.
Inspired by various business dealings on the golf course, the film incorporates cinematic imagination into the world of lobbying golf. On the 28th, Ha Jung-woo shared his intentions for the project.
He said, "Generally, lobbying is thought to occur in closed spaces, yet I found the vastness of a golf course to be a more discreet setting." He added, "It seemed like everyone playing golf came with their own objectives. I thought it would be fun to weave the characters in that situation into a movie."
Ha Jung-woo explained his vision, "Life is what you cannot control. Life is all coincidences. There can be cinematic fun found within those coincidences."
"Lobby" is set to be released on April 2.
