Stabbing Incident in Ulsan Hospital Parking Lot: Perpetrator Captured by Brave Citizens

A shocking incident occurred in a hospital parking lot in Ulsan, where a woman in her 20s was attacked with a stabbing weapon in broad daylight, leaving her in critical condition.

Fortunately, due to the courageous actions of citizens who witnessed the situation, the perpetrator was unable to escape and was arrested by the police.

On the 28th, the Ulsan Northern District Police announced that they are currently investigating a man in his 30s, referred to as A, on suspicion of attempted murder.

A is accused of wielding a stabbing weapon against a woman in her 20s, referred to as B, around 3:38 PM that day in the above-ground parking lot of a hospital located in Ulsan's Buk-gu.

After the crime, A attempted to flee the scene using a vehicle; however, 5 to 6 citizens who witnessed the incident acted quickly and bravely. They courageously hindered the escape of the perpetrator by physically blocking the front of the vehicle A was in or actively using fire extinguishers to break the car windows.

At the crime scene, the front and rear windows of the car that A was in were completely shattered, demonstrating the urgency of the situation at the time.

The police, who were dispatched after receiving reports, were able to arrest A, who had already been subdued by the citizens.

The victim, B, is currently undergoing emergency surgery at the hospital where the incident occurred and is reported to be in an unconscious state.

The police have secured the stabbing weapon used in the crime and are analyzing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the scene to investigate the exact motive and circumstances of the incident.

The Ulsan Northern District Police stated that they plan to apply for an arrest warrant for A as soon as the investigation is completed. Additionally, they are considering awarding commendations to the citizens who provided crucial assistance in capturing the perpetrator, in recognition of their courage and civic spirit.
