It has been confirmed that the live round penetrated the protective barrier and flew towards the North.

However, our military estimates that the bullet likely did not reach the Northern GP as its speed decreased during the process of penetrating the protective barrier.

Military Response and Similar Incidents

A military official stated, "Our military immediately conducted an announcement towards the North as soon as the situation arose," and added, "There have been no unusual movements from the North Korean military so far." This swift response appears to have prevented any additional escalation of tensions.

There are no unusual movements.

Similar incidents have occurred in the past.

In January 2023, an incident also occurred at a GP in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province, where four live rounds from a K6 machine gun were mistakenly discharged during training.
