A ‘Public Nuisance’ Passenger Who Put Their Legs on the Airplane Seat and Laid on the Floor for 3 Hours Sound Asleep

A passenger sleeping upside down in an airplane seat has caught attention.

Recently, a video shared on a TikTok account captured an airplane passenger resting his legs on the aircraft seat and lying flat on the floor.

The man bent his knees at a right angle while placing his face in the empty space under the seat to sleep.

According to the author, this video was filmed last month on a Ryanair flight, a low-cost airline in Ireland. It is said that the man maintained this position for three hours during the flight.

The video has garnered nearly 3 million views.

Internet users who watched the video expressed amazement, saying, "He created his own business class." Others pointed out the dangers of his position, asking, "Why didn’t the flight attendants stop him?" and "How would he use the oxygen mask in an emergency?"

This is because, when an airplane encounters turbulence, it can drop several meters in an instant, causing injury if a passenger is not securely fastened in their seat.

Meanwhile, this kind of unruly behavior on airplanes is not new.

According to the New York Post last year, there was a case where a passenger was recorded lying in the airplane's baggage compartment. The video of this incident received over 5 million views on TikTok.

In China, a passenger delayed the departure by over two hours by laying across two seats. Flight attendants requested that he sit upright and fasten his seatbelt at takeoff, but the passenger refused, saying he was "unable to sit because of pain."

Such unruly behavior on airplanes can be punishable under aviation security laws in various countries. In the case of the Republic of Korea, if the aircraft is on the ground, a fine of up to 20 million won may be imposed; if in flight, imprisonment of up to 3 years or a fine of up to 30 million won may be applied.
