"People are being swept away in Daejeoncheon"… Found 3 hours after 112 report
A man in his 50s drowned in Daejeoncheon as heavy rain caused the water levels to rise.
According to Dongbu Police Station and Daedeok Police Station on the 18th, a report was received at 3:05 AM saying, "A person is being swept away" in Daejeoncheon in the Dong-gu district of Daejeon.
Police and fire authorities who responded to the report launched a search and found the deceased man, identified as A, under a bridge in Daedeok-gu after approximately three hours.

The police confirmed that the description provided in the report matched A's appearance and verified his identity through fingerprint collection.
A police official stated, "The river water levels rose sharply due to the heavy rain that started yesterday," adding, "We are investigating the exact cause of the accident on-site."

Earlier, over 1,200 residents spent the night in emergency shelters due to the aftermath of heavy rain that affected the northwestern region of Chungcheongnam-do.
According to the Chungcheongnam-do government, as of 4 AM that day, 622 households with a total of 1,223 people had not returned home and were staying in gymnasiums and community centers set up by local governments.
As a heavy rain warning remains in effect across Chungcheongnam-do, forecasts predict an additional 50 to 100 mm of rain, and in some areas, up to 200 mm until tomorrow (19th), heightening residents' concerns.
