A man in his 70s steals goods and flees with an ’empty cart’ left by a delivery driver.

"After returning from a delivery, I had my package stolen."

An incident occurred where a man in his 70s, pulling a handcart, discovered an open delivery truck and stole goods worth 60,000 KRW before fleeing.

On the 25th, JTBC's 'Incident Report' aired footage of the elderly man stealing items from the open delivery truck.

According to the released video, the incident took place on the 24th at around 9:30 AM in a traditional market street in Gwangju, Jeollado.

While the delivery driver briefly stepped away to deliver groceries, the man in his 70s, passing by with an empty handcart, approached the open truck and stole items, including a box containing coffee mix and sauce bottles, totaling 60,000 KRW.

Realizing that he had been victimized, the delivery driver immediately reported the man to the police. He stated, "It didn't seem like it was his first offense. I hope the surrounding merchants stay alert and cautious," explaining his reason for the report.

The police are currently tracking the man's identity and conducting further investigation into the incident.
