Drunken Assault Without Provocation: 30s Man Arrested as a Criminal in the Act

A man in his 30s, intoxicated, was arrested by the police after he indiscriminately assaulted a woman in her 60s near Suwon Station, with whom he had no prior acquaintance.

On the 25th, the Suwon Western Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that they have arrested and are investigating Mr. A (in his 30s) on charges of assault.

Mr. A is accused of attacking the face of a woman in her 60s on the street near Suwon Station around 7 a.m. on that day. The police, who received a report, immediately apprehended Mr. A at the scene.

According to the investigation, Mr. A was heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident, and it has been confirmed that he had no prior acquaintance with the victim.

Intoxicated State

A shocking video released by MBN on the 26th captured the terrifying scene of Mr. A's crime. Mr. A appeared to be walking calmly down the street when he suddenly changed direction and ran toward the victim, who was standing nearby, throwing punches.

He then mounted the fallen victim and continued to assault her, and when a bystander got out of their car to intervene, he also assaulted that individual.

Drunken Rampage from Seoul to Suwon

According to police investigations, this was not Mr. A's first incident of violence. He allegedly caused a disturbance on the bus traveling from Seoul to Suwon.

In police questioning, Mr. A reportedly stated, "I was drinking until the morning," and expressed uncertainty about why he acted that way.

The victim sustained injuries to her facial area and is receiving treatment, while the police are investigating the specific motives and circumstances surrounding Mr. A's actions, as well as confirming any additional victims.

Considering the severity of the incident, it has been reported that the police are also reviewing the option of applying for an arrest warrant for Mr. A.
