"An Insect was Found in the Franchise Cafe Drink"
A customer who ordered ice cream at a franchise cafe received a 'drink' and, after complaining, was met with the absurd response that 'refunds are not possible.'
In a situation where the cafe's mistake was clear, the customer's intention to drink the wrong beverage was met with disbelief when they were told to just consume the incorrectly delivered drink.
This was because a huge insect carcass was floating in the improperly delivered beverage.

Recently, a post titled "This is the first time I've experienced this in my life" appeared on an online community.
The author, Mr. A, explained, "I ordered yogurt ice cream at a franchise cafe, but they mistakenly brought me a drink. When I called the store, I was told that cancellation is possible, but refunds are not."
He continued, "They offered me a 5,000 won coupon and told me to just drink the (incorrectly delivered) beverage, but there was a large insect inside the choco latte they delivered."
Indeed, the photos that Mr. A shared reveal a sizable insect floating inside the choco latte he received.

Receiving a completely different drink from what was ordered is absurd enough, but receiving a drink with an 'insect' in it while being told refunds are not possible is shocking.
Upon hearing Mr. A's story, netizens reacted with anger, saying things like, "They made a wrong delivery and now they say refunds aren't possible," "What is their hygiene level for such a large insect to be inside?" "A ruined store will inevitably go down," "Was it a review event where they added 'protein topping'?" and "What do they mean by 'cancellation is possible but refunds are not?'"
Meanwhile, if you discover foreign substances while consuming purchased food, you should report it in writing to the Korea Food and Drug Administration or the Food Safety Korea website, or call the toll-free number '1399' (Integrated Reporting Center for Unsafe and Poor Quality Foods) to report the discovery.
Once the report is received, the relevant administrative agency will conduct an investigation into the cause of foreign substance contamination, and if it is found that the cause of contamination is the responsibility of the food manufacturing or distribution company, you can receive compensation through a consumer injury relief application.
