A child in diapers discovered on a six-lane road… Safely returned home thanks to a citizen's quick response
A story has emerged of a child, wearing only a diaper, who was crossing a six-lane road alone in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, and was safely returned to their parents thanks to a citizen's swift report and police action.
On the 2nd, a video titled 'A baby in diapers is cradled by the police… What happened?' was released on the Korea National Police Agency's YouTube channel.

The video captures a report made by a citizen to the Mi-pyeong Police Station in Yeosu on the morning of the 25th of last month.
At that time, a citizen spotted a child walking alone on the six-lane road, wearing only a diaper, and immediately reported it to the police.
The police, upon receiving the report, covered the shivering child with their uniform and a blanket to calm them down.
While protecting the child, the police also quickly checked if any missing person reports had been filed.
As the child began to acclimate to the environment of the police station, the child's guardian arrived at the station.

After handing the child over to the guardian, the police safely transported the two home in a patrol car.
According to the police investigation, it was found that the child had a disability and that the guardian typically cared for the child daily; however, the child had gone outside by themselves while the guardian briefly fell asleep.
The child's guardian expressed gratitude to the citizens and police, saying, "If you see a child in a dangerous situation, please do not hesitate to report it. A little attention can make a big difference."

The police stated, "Through the 112 reporting system, we were able to quickly identify the child's guardian and safely reunite them," and added, "We thank the citizen who discovered and protected the child."
Netizens who heard about this story reacted with comments such as, "I wonder how shocked the baby's parents must have been," "Thanks to the police, I can live my daily life with peace of mind today," "A warm gesture, truly touching," and "I'm glad they returned home safely."
