A woman in her 30s and her 6-month-old baby were discovered dead in a villa in Gyeonggi Province, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
According to the Gyeonggi Gwangju Police Station on the 27th, a report was received at around 9:55 a.m. that "my wife and baby are dead" from a villa located in Shinhyeon-dong, Gwangju City.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found woman A and baby B dead in separate rooms.
The reporter was A's husband, who, after waking up with their other children, discovered their deaths and immediately contacted the police.
A note was found on A's mobile phone indicating, "I’m sorry I couldn’t deliver the baby healthily." Additionally, it is reported that the deceased baby B had been suffering from a chronic illness.
Police are currently investigating the possibility that A may have caused B's death and then taken her own life.
To ascertain the exact cause of death, the police have requested an autopsy from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation.
