“Veteran 2” Begins Its Box Office Race…Attracts 490,000 Viewers on Opening Day

The movie 'Veteran 2' (Director Ryoo Seung-wan) has started its box office race, claiming the number one spot on its opening day. According to the Korean Film Council's Integrated Computer Network for Ticketing, 'Veteran 2' attracted 497,558 viewers on its opening day on the 13th. The cumulative number of viewers is 516,054.

Future box office performance looks promising. As of 9:30 a.m. on the 14th, the real-time reservation rate for 'Veteran 2' is 75.4%. It has already secured around 600,000 viewers, making it highly likely to surpass 1 million.

'Veteran 2' is an action crime investigation drama. Detective Seo Do-cheol (played by Hwang Jung-min), who pursues bad guys to the end, and rookie detective Park Sun-woo (played by Jung Hae-in) from the violent crime investigation team, chase a serial killer.

Director Ryoo Seung-wan takes the helm once again. Hwang Jung-min returns 9 years after the previous installment, and Jung Hae-in newly joins the cast. Their on-screen chemistry is notable.

It is one of the most anticipated films of the second half of the year. Even before its release, it received love calls from major international film festivals. It was officially invited to the Cannes Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival.
