'BTS' RM donated 100 million KRW to the Veterans Fund on his birthday, September 12. RM participated in the 'Thank You to Uniformed Personnel Campaign' by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs. This campaign aims to convey support and gratitude to those who work with the Korean flag on their uniforms.
RM's donation will be used to support the welfare and recognition of national merit personnel and their families among the uniformed workers. RM stated, "I feel the dedication to the country firsthand," and added, "I hope this small contribution will be of help to all the heroes who are dedicating their lives to the nation and to those who have worked for peace."
He also expressed gratitude to his fans. "I sincerely thank ARMY who always shower me with overwhelming love and celebration," he said.
RM has been continuing his tradition of donating on his birthdays. Last year, he made a donation to the Korean Society of Forensic Medicine. He has also served as a public ambassador for the Ministry of National Defense's excavation and identification team.
In 2021 and 2022, he donated to the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation, contributing to the restoration and preservation of cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, RM began his mandatory military service as an active-duty soldier last December. He is currently serving in the Army's military band. His discharge date is June 10, 2025.
