Actors Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung will work together, playing opposing roles.
Disney+ announced the release of a new original series titled "Made in Korea" on the 29th, along with the casting lineup. Hyun Bin, Jung Woo-sung, Won Ji-an, Seo Eun-soo, Jo Yeo-jeong, and Jung Sung-il are set to star.
"Made in Korea" is set in the turbulent 1970s. The protagonists are Baek Ki-tae, who harbors ambitions for wealth and power, and prosecutor Jang Geon-young, who sacrifices everything to stop him.
The series portrays their encounters with monumental events that transcend the era, showcasing the tumultuous lives of monstrous individuals born in a rough time.
Hyun Bin will play Baek Ki-tae, a character with ambitions for wealth and power, showing a completely different face from his previous roles. Jung Woo-sung will transform into Jang Geon-young, a prosecutor with animalistic instincts and a terrifying determination.
Won Ji-an will take on the role of lobbyist Choi Yoo-ji, and Seo Eun-soo will play investigator Oh Ye-jin. Jo Yeo-jeong will transform into Bae Geum-ji, and Jung Sung-il into chief secretary Chun Seok-jung.
This series marks director Woo Min-ho's first venture into series direction. He has been praised for his exceptional perspective on modern Korean history in films such as "Inside Men," "The Man Standing Next," and "Harbin."
"Made in Korea" is scheduled for release next year.
