“An Invaluable Experience as an Actress.” (Lee Jung-eun)

JTBC’s ‘She Who Is Different by Day and Night’ (written by Park Ji-ha, directed by Lee Hyung-min and Choi Sun-min) concluded on the 4th with a viewership rating of 11.7%. It ended on a high note by breaking its own highest viewership record.

Actress Lee Jung-eun shared her thoughts on the show’s conclusion on the 5th. She played the role of ‘Im Soon’, the day-time version of the protagonist who switches between a woman in her 50s and one in her 20s from day to night. Her adept expression received praise.

The drama alternated between looking at 20-year-old Lee Mi-jin (played by Jung Eun-ji) and 50-year-old Im Soon. The 50-year-old Im Soon, now an office worker, executed everything flawlessly. The scenes brought both exhilaration and at times, heartwarming moments.

Lee Jung-eun skillfully modulated her tone to match each situation. When faced with injustice, she would raise her voice sharply. In scenes with Kye Ji-woong (played by Choi Jin-hyuk), she displayed a tender, almost girlish gaze and voice.

Lee Jung-eun remarked, “It was a collaborative site with the staff where I pondered over how to bring joy in every scene,” and added, “I felt very rewarded to be able to bring enjoyment to viewers.”

She continued, “It was a set with really good chemistry. Watching my co-actors’ performances was truly enjoyable, making it invaluable and almost a fortune for me as an actress.”

She poured in energy befitting a 20-year-old’s soul. Lee Jung-eun showcased Apink’s ‘Mr. Chu’ stage with Jung Eun-ji and even challenged MZ-generation slang and the Gyeongsang-do dialect.

She expressed her gratitude, saying, “Creating a drama filled with laughter required a lot of energy on set. I cautiously presume that these efforts reached the viewers at home.”

Finally, she said, “I hope you carry away some small happiness from the growth of this woman who suddenly aged, and also feel the preciousness of family and love.”
