Actor Choi Tae-joon will star in KBS-2TV's new weekend drama.
Ghost Studio announced on the 30th, "Choi Tae-joon has been confirmed as the lead role in the new weekend drama 'Ironing Family' (script by Seo Sook-hyang, directed by Sung Joon-hae)."
'Ironing Family' is a romantic black comedy. It follows the family of Cheongnyeom Laundry, who ends up ironing money instead of clothes. They get entangled in an unexpected incident.
Choi Tae-joon will play Cha Tae-ung, an employee at Cheongnyeom Laundry. He lives in the rooftop room of Cheongnyeom Villa and gets involved in a subtle relationship with the family.
He is expected to showcase excellent acting skills. Choi has demonstrated a wide acting spectrum in dramas such as 'Missing Nine,' 'Suspicious Partner,' 'Island,' and 'Dirty Picture Studio.'
He has portrayed both good and evil roles, handling diverse characters ranging from a romantic (Ok Jang-Hwa) to a psychopath (Missing Nine). This time, he will present a new persona.
A talented production team has also come together. Director Sung Joon-hae, known for several family dramas, will be in charge of directing. Additionally, writer Seo Sook-hyang of 'Jealousy Incarnate' penned the script.
His agency said, "Choi Tae-joon is an actor who strives for varied roles in every project," and asked for "much anticipation for his unique portrayal this time."
Meanwhile, 'Ironing Family' is the follow-up to 'Beauty and the Purehearted Man.' Its first broadcast is scheduled for September.
