“Chain Car Accident Occurs in 30 Minutes… Three Drivers Dead”

Traffic Accidents in Hoengseong, Hwacheon, and Gangneung Result in Three Deaths

In the Gangwon region, a series of traffic accidents occurred within a single day, resulting in three deaths and one injury.

Around 1 PM on the 27th, a passenger car collided with a motorcycle on a road in Hoengseong-eup, Hoengseong-gun. The motorcycle driver, identified as Mr. A in his 40s, was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest but eventually passed away.

On the same day, at approximately 12:53 PM, a one-ton truck crashed into a retaining wall near the Yeonggok intersection in Gangneung, resulting in the death of Mr. B, a driver in his 70s.

Collision Between Passenger Car and Ready-Mixed Concrete Truck in Hwacheon… One Dead, One Injured

At around 1:22 PM, a collision occurred between a Santa Fe passenger car and a ready-mixed concrete truck on a road in front of a gas station in Sangseo-myeon, Hwacheon-gun.

As a result of the accident, Mr. C, a passenger car driver in his 60s, was transported in cardiac arrest but died, while the ready-mixed concrete truck driver, identified as Mr. D, sustained minor injuries. The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.

Crane Fire and Rockfall Incident Also Occurred

At approximately 2:59 PM the same day, a fire broke out in a crane at an empty lot in Yongjeong-dong, Donghae City, completely destroying the engine and causing an estimated 20 million won in property damage, according to the firefighting authorities.

Earlier, around 11:43 AM, a 50-year-old man cleaning a sign in Ilsan-dong, Wonju, fell from a ladder and sustained a back injury, being transported to the hospital.

Additionally, at around 7:49 AM that day, a rockfall of approximately 250 tons occurred on a road near Chujeon-ri, Boksan-myeon, Chuncheon, covering the road; however, no casualties were reported as there was no vehicle traffic at the time.
