Dynamite Discovered in Cheongnam Asan's Yakbongcheon… Safety Measures Completed
According to reports from Asan City and the police on the 27th, a resident reported at around 4:47 PM the previous day that a substance presumed to be explosives was found in a rock in Yakbongcheon, Donghwa-ri, Songak-myeon, Asan.

The Asan Fire Department's on-site response team immediately informed Asan City’s Ecological River Division and Safety Management Division, and requested support from the military's Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.
Police and military authorities who responded to the scene confirmed that four dynamite fuses were installed in the rock. The military EOD team activated one of the fuses among the four dynamites, but fortunately, it did not explode.
As nighttime approached, the concerned authorities decided to preserve the site for safety and resume the removal operation the following day.
Explosive Safety Disposal and Cause Investigation
The EOD began the full-scale explosives disposal operation at 8 AM on the 27th. After completing preparation for detonation by around 10 AM when the crane arrived, they safely completed the controlled explosion around 11 AM.
Safe Controlled Explosion

The dynamite discovered this time is presumed to have been supplied for military use during a disaster prevention project in 2023 and was left uncollected during a civil construction process.
Since a disaster prevention project took place in Yakbongcheon in 2023, it seems related to this incident. Authorities plan to conduct a thorough investigation into how the explosives were left uncollected and whether there was any mismanagement.
