Yoo Jae-suk, 34 Years Without Tax Controversy… Opts for a Unique Payment Method
The special tax payment method of 'National MC' Yoo Jae-suk (52), who has never been embroiled in any tax controversy for 34 years since his debut, has been revealed. Experts analyze that the unique reporting method he has chosen is key.
Tax expert Yoon Na-gyeom recently explained on the YouTube channel "Tax Savings TV" that "Even if Yoo Jae-suk undergoes a tax investigation, not a speck of dust comes out."

There are generally two methods for celebrities to report taxes. One is meticulous bookkeeping to maximize tax savings, known as 'Bookkeeping Reporting,' and the other is applying a fixed expense ratio for simpler reporting, called 'Standard Expense Ratio Reporting (Estimated Reporting).' While most celebrities choose the first method for tax savings, Yoo Jae-suk opted for the latter.
Yoon stated, "If we assume he earned 10 billion won, taxes would be about 2.7 billion won under Bookkeeping Reporting, but Yoo Jae-suk's Estimated Reporting requires him to pay 4.1 billion won." He added, "That's an additional 1.4 billion won." In short, he chose to prevent controversies over saving taxes.
"Zero Risk of Tax Investigation… Almost Refundable"
The reason Yoo Jae-suk has opted for this method is clear. As the National MC, he aims to eliminate the possibility of tax controversies entirely and focus only on his broadcasting activities.
Yoon analyzed, "There is no stress about managing evidence, and the risk of a tax investigation is completely removed."

In fact, Yoo Jae-suk became a property owner worth over 20 billion won last year and underwent a rigorous tax investigation, but no intentional tax omissions or tax evasion suspicions were found at all. The tax expert added, "Since he completely gave up on expense processing, there was nothing to investigate. Rather, from the tax office's perspective, they should be the ones refunding him."
Support for Disasters and Youth… Over 3 Billion Won in Donations
Yoo Jae-suk's positive influence extends beyond tax payments to donations as well. According to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, he has consistently donated 50 million won each time disasters such as heavy rains and wildfires occur.
He has also taken the lead in donating coal briquettes during winter, as well as supporting recovery from earthquakes and the COVID-19 pandemic over the past 12 years. His cumulative donations to Hope Bridge alone amount to 1.05 billion won.
In June of this year, he donated 50 million won to the Jip Foundation for young women and youth, stating, "Everyone has the right to grow up with dignity" and "I hope children are not intimidated by everyday inconveniences or wounds." Since 2020, he has donated a total of 350 million won to the Jip Foundation alone.

According to industry sources, the total amount Yoo Jae-suk has donated through various organizations exceeds 3 billion won. Internet users have responded, saying, "Even with money, making significant donations is definitely not easy, and it's really impressive," and "His pattern of donating evenly to various places shows he is truly a great person."
