KBS announcer Kim Jin-woong has caused controversy with remarks directed at Do Kyung-wan. A petition has even been launched calling for his resignation from broadcasting.
On the KBS viewer petition board, a petition titled "We request Kim Jin-woong to step down from all programs and resign" was posted on the 25th. The author, A, raised concerns over Kim's recent comments. In a variety show, he made a statement aimed at Do Kyung-wan, saying, "I cannot live as someone's subordinate."
A expressed deep disappointment and anger, noting, "A public broadcaster's announcer must demonstrate trust and dignity through their words and actions in front of the nation." They added, "However, Kim Jin-woong made remarks targeting his senior," calling it "a statement that goes beyond a joke to publicly denigrate a specific individual."
A described Kim's apology as 'shocking,' writing, "Even though he is in his late 30s, his remarks seemed as if they were made by someone in their late teens." They further stated that it "damages the dignity of KBS announcers and undermines public trust," and strongly petitioned for his resignation. The deadline for this petition is the 24th of next month. If more than 1,000 people agree during this period, the responsible department will be required to respond directly.

On the 24th, in a broadcast of KBS-2TV's "Boss's Ears are Donkey Ears," Kim Jin-woong stated, "I cannot live as someone's subordinate like Do Kyung-wan." Do Kyung-wan's wife, Jang Yoon-jung, expressed her displeasure, capturing related articles on her social media and emphasizing, "There is no 'subordinate' among family."
Kim has since conveyed his apology, stating, "I caused concern with my thoughtless remarks," and admitted, "In my eagerness, I was not careful enough." Meanwhile, Do Kyung-wan and Jang Yoon-jung have been married since 2013 and have one son and one daughter together.
