Netflix's movie 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (hereinafter 'KDEH') has once again stirred up the world.

'KDEH' was screened in North American theaters as part of a special sing-along event on the 23rd and 24th. According to AFP, the two-day screening event topped the North American box office. Despite not being a formal theatrical release, it still reached number one. Over 1,700 theaters in North America participated in the event, and it is reported that tickets at over 1,000 screenings were sold out.

Local media also focused on the event. Variety reported, "Based on Korean culture, 'KDEH' is estimated to earn around 28 billion won over the weekend." This revenue surpasses that of Warner Brothers' horror film 'Weapon' (approximately 21.6 billion won), which is in its third week of release. The recognition of 'KDEH' reaching the top of the North American box office is viewed as extraordinary.

'KDEH' was released on Netflix last June. Due to its immense popularity, a sing-along event was organized. This special screening allows the audience to actively participate and enjoy the experience beyond mere watching.

Analyst David A. Gross noted, "The work (KDEH), originally produced for home viewing, is resonating with audiences at a level that hits in theaters do not achieve." He added, "The audience is singing, dancing, dressing up, and immersing themselves in joy for a TV movie like this—this is the essence of pop entertainment."

The New York Times previously reported on the popularity of 'KDEH', stating, "'KDEH' is making everyone shake their heads, especially parents," emphasizing the film's widespread appeal. It also noted that it has reached the level of famous Disney films such as 'Frozen', praising that "'KDEH' harmonizes comedy, action, music, and supernatural horror elements."

Major foreign media outlets heavily covered the 'KDEH' craze. CNN and USA Today regarded it as a phenomenon in popular culture, rather than just a content based on K-pop, giving it high artistic merit.
