If You Don’t Do ‘This’ Online by This Month, a Government Official Will Come to Your Home

Participate in the resident registration factual survey non-face-to-face by August 31

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety has been conducting the '2025 Resident Registration Factual Survey' nationwide since the 21st of last month.

This survey is an essential national administrative procedure to verify whether the registered residence address matches the actual place of residence. Notably, the digital survey conducted non-face-to-face will be closed at 24:00 on August 31.

The resident registration factual survey is an administrative procedure carried out regularly every year, and this year, a non-face-to-face method has been primarily introduced for the convenience of the citizens.

The non-face-to-face survey, which runs from 9:00 on July 21 to 24:00 on August 31, can be participated in easily through the 'Government24' application.

It is important to note that GPS verification is required from the registered residence, so participants must take part from their registered address. For family members living at the same address, one household member can respond on behalf of the others, making it more convenient.

How will the visit survey proceed after the non-face-to-face survey?

After the non-face-to-face survey period ends, from September 1 to October 23, the head of the local community and municipal officials will visit households directly for the survey.

This visit survey will focus on households that did not participate in the non-face-to-face survey and those that require special management.

The key target groups for the survey include individuals over 100 years old, those who have been untraceable for more than five years, suspected deceased persons, households in high-risk welfare crisis situations, long-term unexcused absentees, and households with school-aged children who are not attending school.

It’s worth noting that even if a household has already participated in the non-face-to-face survey, additional visit surveys will be conducted if they fall under these key target groups.

In particular, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety plans to share the information regarding high-risk welfare crisis households discovered through this survey with the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

They stated that this will be utilized to address welfare blind spots and enhance support for crisis households.

Vice Minister Kim Min-jae of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety urged citizens to actively participate and cooperate, stating, "The resident registration factual survey is a crucial survey that serves as basic data for establishing various policies related to welfare, housing, elections, and taxation by the nation and local governments."
