Developmentally Disabled Abuse Case: Employee of Incheon Support Center Reported to Police

An employee working at a developmental disability support center in Incheon has been arrested on charges of abusing a person with disabilities.

On the 20th, the Incheon Yeonsu Police Station announced that they have booked an employee, referred to as A, on charges of violating the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities Act without detention.

A is accused of committing multiple acts of physical abuse against a 30-something individual with developmental disabilities, referred to as B, who was utilizing day activity services at the center earlier this year. The victim, B, has been confirmed to be suffering from autism spectrum disorder and epilepsy.

Discovery of Disability Abuse and Investigation Process

B's parents discovered bruises on their son's body and suspected abuse, subsequently filing a complaint with the police. The police secured four months' worth of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the center, confirming signs of abuse.

Currently, the police are conducting further investigations to ascertain the exact circumstances of the incident.
