“20-year-older” workplace boss’s confession rejected, leading to “bullying” in the company for a woman in her 20s

**Confession from 20-Year Older Employee Leads to Workplace Bullying**

A woman in her twenties has revealed that she is facing workplace bullying after rejecting the confession of a colleague who is 20 years older than her.

On the 20th, JTBC's "Incident Reporting" shared the unfortunate situation of a female informant, referred to as A, who works at a factory during the day and studies for certifications at night.

According to A's testimony, her supervisor at the factory continually suggested blind dates, and eventually, A agreed. However, the person she was introduced to was an employee from the same factory who was 20 years older. A rejected the man's affections, citing their age difference.

**Inappropriate Behavior and Group Ostracism in the Workplace**

The problems began during a welcome dinner for A. The 20-year older man, intoxicated, attempted to inappropriately touch A. The factory supervisor who witnessed the incident only responded by saying, "That's how he gets when he's drunk."

When A, feeling uncomfortable, tried to leave the gathering, the man followed her out, and the next day, rumors spread at work that the two had gone on a date. A's coworkers encouraged her with comments like, “Do well!” while the supervisor kept pushing her to continue seeing him.

Eventually, A could no longer endure the situation and contacted the man directly, saying, "This is extremely uncomfortable. It’s hard for me to work because of you." However, the man reacted angrily, saying he would give up on her. Subsequently, he continued to display distress in front of colleagues or glare at A.

**Retaliatory Job Assignments and Ongoing Bullying**

A confronted her supervisor, asking, "Would you want your daughter to go through this?" The supervisor absurdly replied, "I don’t have a daughter." After A informed the highest authority at the factory about her situation, both her supervisor and the older man received warnings.

However, retaliation soon began. The supervisor reassigned A to a difficult job that was mainly handled by men and started ostracizing her by refusing to acknowledge her.

A, in a situation where she must complete a year of work, has been enduring this treatment, but the supervisor has suggested, “Shouldn’t you be leaving by now?” Even more shockingly, it has come to light that the older man is now making advances towards another female employee in her early twenties.

In response to this situation, attorney Son Su-ho stated, "This could be considered workplace bullying. If someone's position in the workplace is used to engage in such detrimental behavior, it is likely to be group bullying."
