'Proximity to Han Dong-hoon', Sharp Comments Aimed at Kim Geon-hee
Members of the People's Power party, referred to as the so-called 'proximity to Han Dong-hoon' group, have unleashed fierce criticism against Kim Geon-hee, the spouse of former President Yoon Suk-yeol.
Recently, after Kim made remarks about former leader Han Dong-hoon during a meeting with lawyer Shin-pyeong at the Seoul Southern Detention Center, even within the conservative camp, sharp reactions followed, including comments like "She still hasn't come to her senses" and "Worry about herself."
On the 20th, lawyer Shin, known as a mentor to former President Yoon, revealed the contents of his meeting through his Facebook.
He stated, "As soon as Mrs. Kim sat down in the meeting room, she said, 'Shouldn't I die for my husband to live?' and revealed that she was in such a state of severe depression that she could hardly eat, leaving only a skeletal frame.” He added, "Mrs. Kim lamented that 'if Han Dong-hoon had not betrayed me, she would have enjoyed infinite glory.'"
Kim Jong-hyuk and Shin Ji-ho, Repeated Criticism
Kim Jong-hyuk, a representative figure of the pro-Han group and a panelist on various political broadcasts, posted on Facebook the same day, stating, "I know it's rude to say this to a former first lady, but honestly, I thought 'This woman still hasn't come to her senses.'"
He asserted, "It seems that Mrs. Kim does not understand at all how much vanity and lust for power have ruined the lives of many people and led the conservatives to destruction."
He particularly questioned, "What glory is there in being loyal to a couple accused of illegal martial law, illegal electoral intervention, stock price manipulation, shamanistic politics, and receiving luxury goods?" He emphasized, "Former leader Han's fight against the overstepping and illegal martial law will instead remain a badge of honor and glory." He added, "Mrs. Kim should worry about herself."
Former lawmaker Shin Ji-ho also pointed out on Facebook, "Mrs. Kim Geon-hee is blaming her arrest on Han Dong-hoon," stating, "It's absurd to transfer all the responsibility to him when luxury goods and stock manipulation were not done at his behest."
Accusations of 'Double Play'… Kim Claims to be a Strategist
Former lawmaker Shin revealed that he spoke with Kim for 30 minutes last year and shared that "the word he mentioned the most was 'Han Dong-hoon.'"
According to him, during that conversation, Kim expressed, "We want to nurture Han Dong-hoon,” and “I expressed my intention to apologize regarding the luxury bag issue, but there was no response.”
Shin assessed, "Mrs. Kim sees herself as a strategist, and the core of that is 'double play.'” He stated that "the remarks she made to lawyer Shin would also be in the same vein," criticizing, "Mrs. Kim is a person who skillfully says things she does not mean, and people do not easily change."
