Hong Jun-pyo Criticizes Former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and Former Minister Lee Sang-min Harshly
Former Daegu Mayor Hong Jun-pyo has leveled strong criticism at former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and former Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, who are facing charges of insurrection related to the December 3 emergency state.
On the 19th, Hong publicly expressed his disappointment and critique regarding the actions of the two figures through his Facebook account.

Hong expressed regret over Han, stating, "He was originally a thoughtful and prudent person, and I wish he had maintained his composure until the end."
He expressed deep disappointment about Han's current situation with the phrase, "What a pity that such a valuable person is ruining the country, ruining the conservative forces, ruining the party, and ending his life like that."
Additionally, Hong pointed out that had Han managed the presidential election from a neutral stance during his time as acting president, he could have beautifully concluded his over 50 years of bureaucratic service.
He sharply criticized that the current situation resulted from Han getting "lost in greed and dreaming a foolish dream of becoming president," fueled by the collusion of former President Yoon Seok-youl's couple and their followers, as well as some conservative media's encouragement.
Lee Sang-min, "Struck by lightning while next to a harsh person"

Hong's critiques continued with former Minister Lee Sang-min as well.
He noted that despite having publicly demanded the resignation of Lee and the Chief of the National Police during the Itaewon disaster, these requests were ignored, resulting in Lee facing humiliation by becoming embroiled in an insurrection case.
Hong expressed regret, saying, "Former Minister Lee is a very rational and decent person, but he has become a victim struck by lightning while being next to a harsh person."
Furthermore, he indirectly criticized former President Yoon by stating, "There are people who even show off in their underwear like Yoon, claiming they will act as mourners at a funeral, so I have no more to say."
Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo appeared before the special prosecutor on the morning of the 19th as a suspect in the insurrection case and returned home after enduring over 16 hours of intense questioning.

He is under suspicion of facilitating and participating in former President Yoon’s illegal declaration of a state of emergency on December 3 last year. It is reported that the special prosecutor's team will soon decide whether to request an arrest warrant based on the investigation results.
On the same day, the special prosecutor's team indicted former Minister Lee Sang-min for significant involvement in insurrection, abuse of power, and perjury charges.
Former Minister Lee is facing allegations that, as the Minister of the Interior and Safety—the ministry responsible for the emergency—he failed to fulfill the 'responsibilities of a state councilor' as stipulated in the Constitution and laws.
