“The Barefoot Man on Ice” Cho Seung-hwan Donates Entire Advertisement Fee to Solve Water Issues in Myanmar

Environmental activist Jo Seung-hwan takes meaningful action to solve Myanmar's drinking water issue

Jo Seung-hwan, known as the 'Barefoot Man', has taken significant steps to address the drinking water crisis in Myanmar.

On the 19th, Jo Seung-hwan signed a contract with Jinwon Waterway as a promotional model and donated his entire modeling fee to solve the drinking water problem in Myanmar.

Serving as an ambassador for Gwangyang City and Goheung County, Jo Seung-hwan is carrying out various activities to raise awareness about environmental protection. This donation is expected to provide substantial help in improving access to drinking water for residents in Myanmar.

Jo Seung-hwan is set to challenge the world record for 'Standing Barefoot on Ice' at the Komada Temple in Myanmar on November 14.

A water well ceremony, which will be constructed 1,000 meters deep within the temple, will also take place on that day. The total cost of this well construction, approximately 170 million kyats (MMK) or around 107 million KRW, will be fully funded by donations.

Various individuals, including Jo Seung-hwan, have participated in sponsoring the water well construction in Myanmar.

Gwangyang Mayor Jeong In-hwa, singer Kim Da-hyun, Park Hyang-jin, chairman of Hohwon General Hospital, Kim Ki-yun, chairman of Panda Farm, and Lee Myung-ryul, CEO of Donggwang Sahu, have joined in the sponsorship. Additionally, Lee Eun-young, representative of Eun-young's Flowering Sea, Lee Byeong-no, representative of Gawon Farm, broadcaster Noh Min, and the temple Okbulsa in Yangpyeong County have also expressed their support.

Gwangyang Mayor Jeong In-hwa remarked, "I was moved to see the environmental activist 'Barefoot Man' Jo Seung-hwan donating his entire modeling fee, practicing the influence of goodness. I am grateful to be part of such meaningful sharing."

Jo Seung-hwan continues to engage in activities aimed at conveying messages about environmental protection.

On the 10th, he achieved success by breaking his own record by five minutes during the 'Cultural Department Invitation Event of the Global Belt and Road Public Alliance' held in Zhangjiajie, China, in front of numerous tourists and officials.

He has set a world record for 'Standing Barefoot on Ice' for 5 hours and 20 minutes.

Future plans are also active. On the 19th of next month, he has been invited to the opening ceremony of the '2025 National Eco-Friendly Agricultural Conference' in Yangpyeong County, where he plans to challenge a new record of 5 hours and 25 minutes.
