The film 'Project Y' (directed by Lee Hwan) is set to meet audiences at domestic and international film festivals before its release. The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) announced on the 18th that "Project Y" has been invited to the 'Today's Korean Cinema – Special Premiere' section of the 30th Busan International Film Festival.

The 'Today's Korean Cinema – Special Premiere' section showcases the latest and representative works of popular Korean commercial films, making it the film's first presentation to domestic audiences. A total of five films, including 'Project Y', will be screened. They are 'The Great Flood' (directed by Kim Byeong-woo), 'Boss' (directed by Ra Hee-chan), 'The Neighbors Upstairs' (directed by Ha Jung-woo), and 'Chin-Gu' (directed by Jeong Woo and Oh Seong-ho).

'Project Y' is a crime noir genre film that tells the story of women, who have nothing but each other, stealing black money and gold bars to escape their harsh realities.

In addition to BIFF, it has also been invited to the 'Special Presentation' section of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival, where it is scheduled to have its world premiere on the 11th of next month (Korean time).

Meanwhile, 'Project Y' is expected to be released in South Korea after its festival screenings.
