Fire Starts in 3rd Floor Studio

At around 9:44 AM on the 17th, a fire broke out in a three-story mixed-use building in Pal-tan-myeon, Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province, resulting in the death of a man in his 60s.

According to police and fire authorities, the victim was reported to have fallen out of a window on the third floor of the building at the time of the fire.

The fire was completely extinguished by the fire brigade approximately 40 minutes after receiving the alarm. The building was identified to have four commercial spaces on the first floor, with five studio apartments occupied on the second and third floors.

Fortunately, the other residents were able to evacuate on their own, and no additional casualties were reported.

Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damages.
