Former Representative Cho Kuk of the Justice Party has begun engaging in message politics through social media since his release on a special pardon for Liberation Day.
On the morning of the 16th, the day after his release, Cho posted several pictures of books along with a short message "Closed Door Reading" on his Facebook.
The term 'Closed Door Reading' signifies reading with the door closed, and the list of books Cho revealed included various titles that encompass a wide political spectrum.
Books covering diverse topics related to politics and society included "Memoirs of Kim Dae-jung," "Biography of Cho So-ang," "Tilted Equality," "Serious Accidents Punishment Act," "Democracy in America," "The Time for Transformative Centrism Has Arrived," "Beneficial Conservatism and Righteous Progressivism," and "America's Betrayal and the Unstable World," among others.
In particular, the book "America's Betrayal and the Unstable World" has garnered attention as it was published in May by Congressman Kim Jun-hyung, who previously served as the head of the National Diplomatic Institute and is currently a member of the Justice Party.
Sharing Family Time to Prepare for Political Activities
On the afternoon of the 15th, the first day after his pardon and restoration of rights, Cho also resumed his Facebook activities.
He shared a simple message "Family Meal" along with a 7-second video of stew boiling, sharing his time with family after his release.
There is speculation in the political arena that Cho's consecutive social media activities signal a warming-up for his political comeback.
Many view Cho using his pardon and restoration of rights as a crucial opportunity to prepare for active political endeavors after being restricted from political activities due to legal issues.
The procedure for Cho's rejoining the Justice Party is expected to take place as early as the 18th, and he is reportedly set to make his first public appearance that same day in Seoul.
