Actors Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min oscillate between friendship and love-hate.
On the 24th, tvN released still cuts of Choi Seung-hyo (Jung Hae-in) and Bae Seok-ryu (Jung So-min) from the new Saturday-Sunday drama 'Mom's Friend's Son' (written by Shin Ha-eun, directed by Yoo Je-won). The stills capture the characters in their teens to their thirties.
First, the two complete their fresh school days in school uniforms. Choi Seung-hyo appears displeased as Bae Seok-ryu is engrossed in something at the neighborhood stationery store. He nags at the back of her head.
The stills also depict the moment they reunite. After living fiercely for their respective dreams and realities, the two meet again after several years. A two-shot was captured in ‘Hyerong-dong,' where they hold memories of their childhood.
The love-hate chemistry is evident. Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu converse at a playground jungle gym, showing a look of unfamiliar excitement. Immediately, Choi Seung-hyo grabs Bae Seok-ryu’s neck and looks at her as if she were an enemy.
Jung Hae-in plays Choi Seung-hyo, a perfect "mom's friend's son" in terms of looks, personality, and ability. He is a representative of an architectural office and a young, noteworthy architect, but he experiences a glitch with Bae Seok-ryu's return.
Jung So-min plays Bae Seok-ryu, a broken "mom's friend's daughter" dreaming of rebooting her life. She was a successful product manager at a global corporation but decides to make a new resolution after an error occurs in her life one day.
Jung Hae-in said, "Jung So-min has bright energy. I felt she was a warm-hearted actress." Jung So-min also remarked, "Jung Hae-in is the brightest on set. He greatly contributes to the atmosphere. Thanks to him, it’s always enjoyable."
'Mom's Friend's Son' is a tumultuous neighborhood romance. It depicts the story of a woman trying to reboot her malfunctioning life and 'Mom's Friend's Son,' who is a living dark past.
'Mom's Friend's Son' will premiere next month on the 17th at 9:20 PM.
