Stray Kids will have a special collaboration with a Hollywood movie.
On the 23rd, JYP Entertainment announced, "Stray Kids will release the OST and new song 'SLASH' for the movie 'Deadpool and Wolverine' on various music sites at 6 PM today."
'SLASH' was created by the producing team 3RACHA within the group. The song was made by Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, along with composer Versachoi. It was inspired by the movie 'Deadpool.'
This collaboration came to fruition thanks to the connection between Stray Kids and 'Deadpool.' The members showcased a performance inspired by 'Deadpool' in Mnet's 'Kingdom: Legendary War' in 2021.
At that time, 'Deadpool' lead actor Ryan Reynolds mentioned Stray Kids on social media. Bang Chan responded to his love call, and since then, Ryan and Stray Kids have maintained a friendship.
Stray Kids made a comeback on the 19th with their new song 'Chk Chk Boom,' achieving great success. They surpassed 1,654,332 copies (Hanteo Chart) on the day of release, achieving million-seller status in just one day.
The music video is also garnering significant attention. From the day of its release, it remained at the top of YouTube's Worldwide Trending Music Videos for four days. 'Deadpool and Wolverine' stars Ryan and Hugh Jackman also appeared in it.
Stray Kids will perform as headliners at 'Lollapalooza Chicago' in the U.S. on August 2nd (local time). They will also kick off their new world tour 'Dominate' from August 24-25 and August 31-September 1.
