Cha Eun-woo selected as a company commander trainee… “Recognized for exemplary military service and leadership”

'ASTRO' Cha Eun-woo (real name Lee Dong-min, 28) has been appointed as a company commander trainee. The Army Training Center released photos of the trainees on its website on the 13th. Cha Eun-woo’s appearance during basic military training at the Army Training Center in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province was also visible.

Cha Eun-woo has donned the armband of a company commander trainee, recognized for his leadership among the trainees. His neat military uniform, sharply worn beret, and enduring visuals also caught attention.

The position of a company commander trainee is selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of responsibility, physical fitness, and command delivery skills. It includes an overall assessment of lifestyle attitude, sincerity, and interpersonal relationships.

Recently, there have been sightings of Cha Eun-woo during his military service. One person mentioned, “I saw him washing dishes. He was working hard. Even with a buzz cut, he was handsome, so I looked away.”

Another sighting recounted that “when people kept staring at him in the military, the drill instructor said, ‘Please do not stare. He is a person.’”

ASTRO member Yoon San-ha also shared insights into Cha Eun-woo’s adjustment on the 4th. “He said he wanted to be saved. Even though he is physically fit, it seems not easy. He is adjusting well,” he revealed.

Cha Eun-woo enlisted in the Army Training Center in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province, on the 28th of last month and is currently undergoing basic military training. He is expected to serve his national defense duty in the Army Military Band afterward.

Meanwhile, Cha Eun-woo's scheduled discharge date is January 27, 2027. During his military hiatus, the release of the Netflix series "The Wonderfulls" and new music are expected.
