
'ASTRO' Cha Eun-woo (real name Lee Dong-min, 28) has been appointed as a company commander trainee.
The Army Training Center released photos of the trainees on its website on the 13th. Cha Eun-woo, who is undergoing basic military training at the Army Training Center in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province, was also seen in the photographs.
Cha Eun-woo wears the armband of a company commander trainee, having earned recognition for his leadership among the trainees. His neat military uniform, well-fitted beret, and unchanged visuals also caught attention.
The position of company commander trainee is selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of responsibility, physical fitness, and the ability to relay commands. They assess overall factors including attitude towards life, sincerity, and interpersonal relationships.
Recently, reports of Cha Eun-woo’s military service sightings have emerged. One account mentioned, “I saw (Cha Eun-woo) doing the dishes. He was working hard. Even with a shaved head, he’s handsome, so I couldn’t look away.”
Another sighting recounted, “Since people kept staring at him in the army, the instructor reportedly said, ‘Please don’t stare. He is a person.’”
ASTRO member Yoon San-ha also shared updates about Cha Eun-woo's adjustment on the 4th. He mentioned, “He asked for help. Although he has good stamina, it doesn’t seem easy. He is adjusting well.”
Cha Eun-woo enlisted at the Army Training Center in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province, on the 28th of last month and is currently undergoing basic military training. He is expected to serve his military duty in the Army Military Band afterward.
Meanwhile, Cha Eun-woo’s scheduled discharge date is January 27, 2027. During his military service period, the Netflix series "The Wonderfulls" and a new music release are planned.
