Security issues are anticipated to be a central topic of the summit.

Recently, the Trump administration proposed that Korea increase its defense spending to 3.8% of its GDP during the Korea-U.S. trade negotiations and highlighted the importance of 'capability over numbers' regarding U.S. Forces Korea, drawing attention to discussions surrounding these issues.
