Cosmic Girls' Yeonjung to reappear in her musical debut work.

Starship Entertainment announced on the 22nd that "Yeonjung has been cast in the musical 'Lizzie'." Fresh off her recent performance in the musical 'The Great Comet,' she will soon return to the stage.

She will be playing the role of 'Alice Russell,' a neighbor of the Borden family who shares secret confidences with Lizzie. She plans to deliver a captivating performance in this intriguing character.

Yeonjung shared her thoughts, saying, "It’s an honor to be back on the stage of my debut work 'Lizzie.' I am preparing diligently to show a more mature side of myself."

She added, "I have been given a wonderful opportunity, and as much as the audience loves the work, I will do my best. I ask for your continued interest and support."

'Lizzie' is inspired by the unresolved murder case of Lizzie Borden in the United States. With its groundbreaking story and powerful numbers, the musical has captured the love of many audiences.

Yeonjung first appeared in 'Lizzie' in March 2022, receiving praise for her strong vocal abilities, striking performances, and delicate acting that seemed to merge with her character.

An insider commented, “Yeonjung was recognized for her potential as a next-generation musical star at that time. She will once again team up with fellow actors to lead the production.”

They also hinted at her ability to digest characters seamlessly, stating, “She previously boasted a perfect synchronization with her role and plans to convey her charm through another impactful performance.”

Starting with 'Lizzie,' Yeonjung has appeared in 'Crash Landing on You' and 'Aloha, My Mother.' Last month, she successfully portrayed the role of 'Natasha' in 'The Great Comet.'

Meanwhile, the musical 'Lizzie' will be held at the Doosan Art Center’s YeonGang Hall starting from September 14th.
