Worker Without Safety Gear Dies in Fall During Air Conditioner Installation
A tragic incident occurred at a construction site in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, where a worker lost his life due to a safety accident.
A male day laborer in his 60s fell while installing an air conditioner and eventually died while receiving treatment at the hospital.

According to police and fire authorities on the 11th, Mr. A, a man in his 60s, was transported to the hospital in an unconscious state and ultimately lost his life in the intensive care unit the previous day.
Mr. A fell approximately 3 meters from a ladder while installing a ceiling air conditioner at a construction site of a newly built building in Mun-san-eup, Paju, around 1:05 PM on the 5th.
Mr. A, who was working as a day laborer for the air conditioner installation company, is believed to have fallen during the process of installing the air conditioner support. Notably, it is pointed out that Mr. A was working without wearing essential safety gear, such as a safety helmet, at the time of the accident.
Violation of Industrial Safety Regulations and Employer Responsibility
According to the Industrial Safety and Health Act, workers must wear safety helmets at work sites where there is a risk of falling. Additionally, employers have the obligation to manage and supervise workers to ensure they wear safety helmets properly.

This accident appears to have occurred due to the failure to adhere to basic safety guidelines.
Falls at construction sites can lead to fatal consequences, highlighting the importance of wearing safety gear once again. Especially for day laborers, safety training and the provision of equipment are often neglected, necessitating extra caution.
Currently, the police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor are closely examining the safety management status of the site and investigating the exact circumstances of the accident. In light of this incident, it seems urgent to strengthen safety management in construction sites and to establish measures for the protection of workers.
