Soohyun hosts the closing ceremony of ‘Busan International Film Festival’… leading the rise of competitive film festivals

Actress Suhyun will grace the finale of the Busan International Film Festival.

The organizing committee of the Busan International Film Festival announced on the 11th, "We have selected Suhyun as the host for the closing ceremony of the 30th Busan International Film Festival," adding, "This will be a stage that announces its first leap as a competitive film festival to the world."

This year’s Busan International Film Festival will feature male and female hosts individually presenting the opening and closing ceremonies. Lee Byung-hun has been chosen as the host for the opening ceremony, while Suhyun will lead the "Busan Award" presentation on her own.

The festival organizers expressed their expectations, stating, "Suhyun will bring a powerful conclusion," and noted that her unique acting career and excellent language skills will serve as a bridge between the film and the audience.

Suhyun made her debut in 2006 with the drama "Queen of Game." She became the first Korean actress to appear in a Marvel film, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" (2015), portraying the character Helen Cho.

She has appeared in several renowned works, including the "Harry Potter" spin-off "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" (2018) and "The Dark Tower" (2017).

Her domestic activities have continued as well, with roles in dramas like "I Am Not a Hero" (2024) and "Gyeongseong Creature." She won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards for her performance in the film "Ordinary Family" (2024).

Meanwhile, the Busan International Film Festival will take place from October 17 to 26 next month at the Busan Cinema Center.
