Heavy Rain Advisory in Effect for Southern and Western Regions of Jeju Island… Strong Rain Expected at 30mm per Hour
A heavy rain advisory has been issued for certain areas of Jeju Island.
The Jeju Meteorological Administration activated the heavy rain advisory for the southern parts of Jeju Island and the southern mountainous area as of 8 a.m. on the 11th. Prior to this, a heavy rain advisory was also issued for the western region of Jeju Island at 7:20 a.m. on the same day.

According to the Meteorological Administration, a heavy rain advisory is issued when the rainfall is expected to exceed 60mm in three hours or 110mm in twelve hours.
A more serious situation called a heavy rain warning is issued when the rainfall is expected to exceed 90mm in three hours or 180mm in twelve hours.
Intense Rain Focused on Western Jeju
As of the morning of the 11th, Jeju Island is experiencing generally overcast weather, with rain falling at approximately 10mm per hour, particularly concentrated in the western region of Jeju Island.

The Meteorological Administration forecasts that between 20mm to 80mm of rain will fall across Jeju Island by the 12th.
Of particular concern is the prediction that in areas where a heavy rain advisory has been issued, there could be very strong rain at around 30mm per hour, accompanied by gusts and thunder and lightning, until the afternoon of the 11th.
Those visiting or residing in Jeju Island are advised to pay close attention to the weather conditions and prioritize safety.
