
Singer and actress Lim Yoon-a shared her journey of challenging herself as a Michelin chef.
Lim Yoon-a will star in tvN's new weekend drama "The Chef of Tyrant" (written by fGRD, directed by Jang Tae-yu), where she plays the role of Chef Yeon Ji-young, who works at a Michelin 3-star restaurant.
She hinted at a new transformation, stating, "I was drawn to the theme of cooking. I felt attracted to Chef Ji-young and wanted to take on this challenge."
Regarding her character, she mentioned, "She has charisma, wisdom, and confidence," adding, "I was impressed by Ji-young's strong presence as she forges her own path."
Ji-young is an exceptional cook who has even won a French culinary competition, requiring thorough preparation. Lim Yoon-a spent three months learning and mastering cooking techniques.
She revealed, "I met with real chefs to learn how to handle cooking tools and actually cook," and stated, "I prepared through various cooking practices."
She also honed her French cooking skills. "I think I showcased flambé the most. It was a performance that made me think, 'I can do this,'" she reflected.
Attention to detail for the time slip narrative was also factored in. Lim Yoon-a explained, "To clearly show the differences, I wore scarves and earrings."
She also altered her speech. For the sake of historical contrast, she maintained a confident, cheerful, and modern atmosphere, intriguing audiences about the Ji-young she created.
