Yes24, Another Hacking?… Access Issues Arise Two Months After Ransomware Recovery

Yes24, Website Access Restricted… E-book Services Unavailable

Yes24, an online bookstore with 20 million members, has faced another access issue. This comes just two months after recovering from a system failure due to a ransomware attack in June.

Since 9 AM on the 11th, access to the Yes24 website has been restricted.

When accessing the homepage and app, users encounter a message stating, "Unable to access the site," and both the e-book service and publisher payment system are also experiencing difficulties.

They further stated, "To mitigate any potential risks, we have urgently shut down the current system to prevent further damage and are conducting security checks and defense measures."

They promised, "We are currently working to quickly restore services using backup data, and we sincerely apologize once again for the inconvenience caused. We will do our best for a swift recovery."

Previously, Yes24 experienced a severe disruption for five days due to a ransomware attack on June 9, during which they did not immediately inform users of the hacking incident and only disclosed the damage the following day, drawing criticism.
