Daegu Apartment Fire Tragedy, Three Family Members Dead

At approximately 3:35 AM on the 10th, a fire broke out on the 11th floor of an apartment in Sincheon-dong, Dong-gu, Daegu, resulting in the deaths of three family members.

According to police and fire authorities, two children were found dead inside the apartment, while their mother died after falling while trying to escape the fire.

Three other residents were transported to the hospital due to smoke inhalation, while about 20 residents evacuated on their own.

Fire authorities responded to the call and extinguished the fire in about 20 minutes. The Dongbu Police Station and Daegu Fire Safety Headquarters are investigating the cause of the fire, with a focus on the possibility of arson.

Investigation Into Possible Arson as Cause of Fire

A police official stated, "We plan to determine the exact cause of the fire, including the possibility of arson, through on-site investigations and additional inquiries."

Authorities are continuing their investigation without ruling out other potential causes aside from arson.

The fire occurred in the middle of the night, which likely made it difficult for residents to evacuate.

Police and fire authorities plan to establish measures for accurate cause identification and prevention of future incidents.
