JTBC's new drama 'Virtuous Sales' has completed its casting lineup. Kim So-yeon, Yeon Woo-jin, Kim Sung-ryung, Kim Sun-young, and Lee Se-hee have been confirmed to appear.
'Virtuous Sales' (directed by Jo Woong, written by Choi Bo-rim) is set in a rural village in 1992. It is a drama about the self-reliance, growth, and friendship of the "Sales Sisters," a group of four women who venture into door-to-door sales of adult products.
The story follows these forward-thinking women as they unexpectedly bring healthy energy into the private lives of couples, while also thriving themselves. It is a remake of the British 'Brief Encounters'.
First, Kim So-yeon plays 'Han Jeong-sook,' a housewife. Jeong-sook married her first love and has lived a conservative and passive life. After getting into the door-to-door sales of adult products, she discovers her innate talent as a marketer.
Yeon Woo-jin takes on the role of 'Kim Do-hyun,' an American-style police officer who lived in the United States. He comes from a wealthy family and is an Ivy League graduate. He encounters an unexpected mystery.
Kim Sung-ryung plays 'Oh Geum-hee,' the elegant brain of the "Sales Sisters." Geum-hee is a well-educated woman who graduated from Ewha Womans University. However, she is spending monotonous days in her husband's hometown of Geumje.
Kim Sun-young is cast as 'Seo Young-bok,' a mother of many children. She has a great relationship with her husband, but their financial situation is dire, forcing their family of six to live in a cramped single room.
Lastly, Lee Se-hee plays 'Lee Joo-ri,' a single mom who runs a beauty salon. She is lively and spirited, never giving up in any situation. She grows into a confident youngest member who lifts her sisters up with her straightforward attitude.
The production team expressed confidence, saying, "Trustworthy actors Kim So-yeon, Yeon Woo-jin, Kim Sung-ryung, Kim Sun-young, and Lee Se-hee will bring the 90s back to life. Their excellent performances will breathe life into the unique material and dramatic story."
They added, "We hope for your anticipation and interest in the growth story of the 'Sales Sisters' as they build strong friendships and strive for a better life through the medium of 'door-to-door sales of adult products' in a conservative rural village."
